About Chaffee County Heritage

Our mission is to maintain and implement a strategic plan to protect the rural landscapes, scenic views, public natural areas, and historic places that give Chaffee County a sense of home. In the spirit of our heritage, we acknowledge the Apache, Cheyenne, Arapahoe and Ute Territories.

Founded in 2004, the Chaffee County Heritage Area Advisory Board, Chaffee County Heritage for short, works in partnership with the Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA), government, local organizations, and the community, to ensure Chaffee County’s heritage is preserved for generations to come.
